About Us
Fit Bomb is a family run business, Addi, Sulley, Tiggy, Smaug and Ewok, each of whom have their own crucial role within Fit Bomb.
Addi runs the fitness side of things, Emma heads up the physio, Tiggy takes care of hospitality, Ewok covers security, and Smaug is resident snuggler, tail wagger and general love generator.
Our mission is to provide the highest possible level of up to date evidence-based health care in a safe, inclusive, un-judgemental and caring environment.
We want to change your life for the better. To help you be the happiest, healthiest version of yourself. We want to be the best part of an awesome day.

Our Story
2020 changed everything. For everyone. We were so fortunate that we had a home to lock down into, and each other and our animals to share it with. It created an incubator for ideas. Showed us how much we valued being together, and how important community is. Emma saw patients via telehealth, and Addi started online group classes, and outdoor group sessions when we were permitted.

So when it was time to return to 'normal' we decided we wanted that to look a bit different for us. Fit Bomb physio started in our spare room which we converted into a physio treatment room, and our fitness started at Stevens Reserve, our local dog park where we ran PT and group Fitness sessions. Word spread, and before long we needed a proper space to call our own. Late 2020 we took over the lease of our warehouse on Rees Street in O'Connor, and Fit Bomb was born!

Our mission from the start was simple. Create a space that felt inviting. We didn't want to be over clinical and we didn't want to be macho and we didn't want to come across like a gym at all. We wanted it to feel like you're favourite coffee shop or music venue. Safe, warm, friendly, and un-judgemental. We wanted to present ourselves as the opposite of other fitness spaces. No mirrors, no negative body talk, no weighing, no measuring, no diets, no exclusion. An anti-gym.
There are thousands of quite-good physios and gyms out there, but very few exceptional ones. Most of the existing places catered to a 'mainstream' not taking steps to be inclusive and accesible. Things are improving and we take a great deal of pride in being a part of that movement. But when we started in 2020, Most gyms still promoted themselves by trying to shame people into action. Using harmful body messaging and by promising unhealthy, unsustainable short term results, without caring about the longterm wellbeing of the people they serve. We've got so used to it we don't realise how damaging it can be.
The Name and Logo
We had a bunch of names that we were brain storming... but Fit Bomb kept being one of our faves. When a patient asked Emma what she was planning to call her new business, Emma mentioned 'Fit Bomb' as a possibility. The patient was horrified 'you CAN'T call a physio that!" And that was confirmation we needed! We didn't want to horrify people, obviously, but we did strongly believe we needed to be utterly different to anything else out there, so that people new their experience was going to be utterly different. This is where we met Fitso the cat. We wanted our logo to be fun friendly and cool, and not resemble any gym or medical branding we'd ever seen. . Addi did graphic design before fitness, mostly for bands (album art, poster design and band tees). They started drawing out ideas for a mascot for Fit Bomb... and Fitso the cat was born. Fitso has developed a little over time but has been with us in some form right from the start.

Having created a space where people are seen, heard and respected, the rest was easy! Most of our choices in that first year came from suggestions from our community. People had amazing ideas about improving the language used around exercise, what sort of classes they wanted, what sort of events would be fun, how to be more inclusive and more accessible. Every idea we could act on, we did.
Eventually we became so busy we needed to build the team, and the following year we needed a second treatment room and a bigger space. So we moved to 358C South Street - our current home.
